To: All Schools/Colleges and Students,

To further provide our students with international learning experiences, enhance cross-cultural communication skills, and broaden global perspectives, Huangshan University and Griffith University, Australia, have agreed through consultation to select outstanding students for an exchange program at Griffith University during the summer of 2025. The relevant details are as follows:

I. Eligibility Criteria

  1. Full-time undergraduate students (Sophomores and above).

  2. Love their country, uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, support the socialist system, possess good moral character, abide by laws and regulations, and have no record of violating national laws, regulations, or university rules.

  3. Applicants must commit to complying with the laws and regulations of Australia and the rules of Griffith University.

  4. In good physical health and capable of successfully completing the overseas study program. (Applicants with Hepatitis B, Hepatitis B carriers, or other infectious diseases are ineligible.)

II. Language Requirements:

  1. Direct Entry: IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5; OR PTE (Academic) overall score of 50 with no communicative skill below 42.

  2. Pathway Entry (if Direct Entry not met): Requires completion of a 10-week Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) Direct Entry Program (DEP) prior to commencing academic studies. Entry requirements for the 10-week DEP:

    • IELTS (Academic) overall score of 5.5 with no band less than 5.0; OR

    • PTE (Academic) overall score of 42 with no communicative skill below 42.
      (Individual English assessment applies).

III. Program Advantages:

  1. Access to ALL academic disciplines at Griffith University; students can freely select courses, including cross-disciplinary study.

  2. Enroll as a Griffith University exchange student with full student status.

  3. Receive an official Griffith University transcript upon successful completion of studies.

  4. Opportunity to take practical courses such as 3002LFC Community Internship or 3002GBS Business Incubator Project Design, effectively integrating and applying theory with practice.

IV. Program Structure:

  1. Standard Program: One semester (July 2025 - October 2025).

  2. Program with DEP: Students requiring English:

    • Commence 10-week DEP in late July (during summer vacation).

    • Progress to academic courses in Griffith's Trimester 3 (November 2025 - February 2026).

  3. Course Load: 4 courses/subjects per semester/trimester.

V. Fee Breakdown (Estimates)

1. Course tuition fee: AUD 11645, equivalent to about RMB 55,000 per semester

2. English course tuition fee: 10 weeks/period of direct English course, tuition fee of AUD 4,650/period, equivalent to about RMB 21,800. This fee is charged separately and is not included in the tuition fees for the exchange course mentioned above.  

3. Other expenses:  

· Health insurance: AUD 400 (6 months, mandatory by the Australian government).  

· Visa fee: AUD 1600 (charged by the Australian Visa Center).  

· Physical examination fee: RMB 800~1500 (charged by the medical examination center).

VI. Required Application Documents:

  1. Huangshan University Overseas Exchange Application Form (Download from Downloads section of International Education College website; print double-sided; complete all sections).

  2. Huangshan University Student Academic Transcript (Printed, signed, and stamped by school/college academic secretary, then reviewed and stamped by Academic Affairs Office).

  3. Color scan of passport photo page.

VII. Other Important Information:

  1. Part-time Work: Exchange students on a Student Visa (subclass 500) are permitted to work:

    • Up to 48 hours per fortnight during the study period.

    • Unlimited hours during scheduled university breaks.

    • Current Australian Government minimum wage: AUD $24.10 per hour (as of Dec 2024).

    • Estimated Potential Earnings (Example):

      • During Study (12 weeks): AUD $24.10/hr * 24 hrs/fortnight * 6 fortnights = AUD $3,470.40

      • During Break (4 weeks): AUD $24.10/hr * 40 hrs/week * 4 weeks = AUD $3,856.00

      • Total Estimated: AUD $7,326.40 (approx. RMB 34,434) - Can significantly offset living costs.

  2. Students are responsible for managing visa applications, accommodation arrangements, flights, and living expenses, with guidance provided by the International Education College.
