Academic Platforms

This major is equipped with laboratories for food microbiology, food technology, food processing and preservation, food safety and analysis, functional food and cosmetics research and development, etc. This major has 6 pilot production lines for students' extracurricular practice, including beer production lines, yogurt production lines, fruit wine production lines, medicinal cosmetics production lines, etc., and 15 off-campus practice bases. Based on these professional platforms, practical activities such as professional skills competitions and innovation and entrepreneurship training have been carried out, which have advantages in cultivating students' new product research and development and engineering design capabilities. Food science teachers have implemented a mentorship system for students, providing targeted training in areas such as from school to enterprise, from school to postgraduate studies, and overseas study. According to statistics, in the past three years, 53% of the graduates majoring in Food Science and Engineering from our college have been engaged in related work in enterprises, institutions and business units in the food field in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Anhui and other places, and 42% of the graduates have been admitted to first-class universities such as Jiangnan University, Ocean University of China, Hefei University of Technology and Nanchang University to pursue postgraduate studies. Five percent of the graduates go to study in Malaysia, South Korea and Australia.
