Pre-Dragon Boat Festival Laboratory Safety Inspection
On May 29, 2025, Pan Jian, Dean of the College of Life and Environmental Science, and Wan Shunli, Vice Dean, led a team from the experimental center to conduct a special laboratory safety inspection ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival.
The inspection team visited various laboratories, focusing on their safety and hygiene conditions, checking equipment usage standards, ensuring a tidy and orderly environment, and eliminating potential safety hazards. Regarding reagent management, the team verified the implementation of the two-person management system for chemical storage cabinets to ensure the safe and controllable storage of hazardous chemicals. Simultaneously, they checked the implementation of the four preventions measures (likely referring to fire, theft, damage, and accidents) and confirmed that firefighting equipment was intact and functional, ensuring comprehensive laboratory safety protections. For laboratories with ongoing experimental tasks during the holiday, the team specifically instructed the responsible faculty to earnestly fulfill their safety duties, strengthen safety education and management for experimenters, strictly standardize experimental procedures, regularly check the operational status of experimental equipment, and ensure the safe and orderly conduct of holiday experiments.
During the inspection, Dean Pan Jian emphasized that laboratory safety is a crucial guarantee for the college's scientific research and teaching work. All faculty and students must maintain constant vigilance and adhere to the principle of preventing problems before they occur. This special inspection further enhanced the safety awareness of the college's faculty and students, providing a strong guarantee for the safe operation of laboratories during the Dragon Boat Festival period.
