School of Life and Environmental Sciences Visits Enterprises in Huangshan District to Expand Employment Opportunities
In order to deepen university-enterprise cooperation and broaden employment channels for graduates, on April 28, 2025, a delegation of four from the School of Life and Environmental Sciences—Wan Zhibing, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Dr. Chen Fei and Dr. Li Yang, faculty members from the Food Science and Engineering program, and Wang Qiuyang, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee—visited Huangshan District to carry out a special initiative aimed at expanding employment opportunities. The delegation visited three enterprises: Huangshan Tea Plantation, Nongfu Spring (Huangshan Water Source Factory), and Huangshan Shuigong Tea Co., Ltd. In-depth discussions were held on topics such as university-enterprise collaboration, talent cultivation, and internship employment, establishing new platforms to enhance the effectiveness of the school’s employment efforts and promote the integration of industry, academia, and research.
Field Visits: Precise Alignment with Enterprise Needs
At Huangshan Tea Plantation, the enterprise representative led the delegation on an inspection tour of the ecological tea garden planting base and the tea processing production line. Both parties reached preliminary agreements on internship opportunities for students majoring in Forestry and Food Science and Engineering, research collaboration on underforest economy projects, and targeted recruitment of graduates. Deputy Party Secretary Wan Zhibing expressed the hope that the tea plantation would serve as a bridge to deepen the integration of “industry-academia-research-application,” providing students with practice scenarios aligned with their expertise while supplying enterprises with high-quality talents who possess both technical skills and a strong work ethic.
At Nongfu Spring’s Huangshan Water Source Factory, the enterprise representative introduced the water source protection measures, beverage production processes, and quality control systems. Both parties agreed to adopt a two-way interaction model involving “enterprise recruitment talks on campus + graduate visits to the factory” to enhance students’ understanding of the food industry and precisely match enterprise job requirements.
At Huangshan Shuigong Tea Co., Ltd., the delegation visited the tea culture exhibition hall and the refined tea processing workshop, discussing areas such as tea industry upgrading and technological innovation in agricultural product processing. The enterprise representative highly acknowledged the school’s achievements in talent cultivation focused on food processing and agricultural product quality and safety. Both parties agreed to deepen cooperation in graduate employment and the construction of joint university-enterprise laboratories.
Deepening Cooperation: Building a New Ecosystem for Employment Services
During the visits, the school and the three enterprises reached multiple cooperation intentions:
Establish a regular communication mechanism, periodically inviting enterprises to participate in campus recruitment fairs and professional development seminars to align talent cultivation plans with job market demands.
Jointly build off-campus practical training bases to provide students with “one-stop” services for internships, practical training, and employment, enhancing their practical abilities and professional competence.
Explore an “order-oriented” talent cultivation model, offering specialized lectures and targeted training programs tailored to enterprise needs to facilitate high-quality employment for graduates.
The school will seize this opportunity to continuously integrate enterprise resources, adopting a strategy of “reaching out” to research demands and “bringing in” services to build an employment service system characterized by “university-enterprise collaboration and supply-demand synergy,” fully promoting more sufficient and higher-quality employment for graduates.
This enterprise visit initiative is a concrete practice by the School of Life and Environmental Sciences to implement university employment efforts. It not only supplies high-quality talent reserves for enterprises but also provides new insights for the school’s discipline construction, professional development, and talent cultivation reform. In the future, the school will continue to deepen the connotation of university-enterprise cooperation, expand employment channels, and contribute more significantly to serving local economic and social development while cultivating applied talents who “integrate knowledge with practice.”
