The Characteristic Biological Resources Development and Big Health Technology Innovation Center was established in 2021. It currently has 2 professors and 4 associate professors, including 1 postdoctoral fellow and 4 doctors. There is 1 academic and technical leader and 1 reserve candidate of the university. It has been approved as the 14th batch of 115 industrial innovation teams in Anhui Province.

Based on local characteristic resources and in response to social demands, the center follows the industrial development deployment of Huangshan City. It integrates the talent and research and development advantages of universities, focusing on innovative research in biomedicine and ecological health care. By integrating multi-disciplinary technical means, it conducts basic research on biomedicine and big health.

The center has successively undertaken one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project funded by the Central Government's Forestry Reform and Development Program, two science and technology innovation projects of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, two general projects and one youth project of the Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province, and has jointly undertaken one key research and development project of Anhui Province, as well as two major and two key projects of natural science research in Anhui Province's universities. One scientific and technological innovation project of the Forestry Bureau of Anhui Province and two special projects of the Anhui Province Innovative Province Construction Subsidy Fund. In the past three years, more than 40 research papers of Class II or above have been published, 4 invention patents have been authorized, and the research funds have reached over 3.6 million yuan.
