A Warm Welcome to the Class of 2025!
On September 6th and 7th, the College of Life and Environmental Science successfully conducted its orientation program for the new cohort of 2025. Guided by the principles of Efficiency, Warmth, and Professionalism, the college meticulously coordinated all activities, offering high-quality services and distinctive displays to facilitate a smooth transition for new students into university life.
To ensure a well-organized process, the college assembled a volunteer team in advance, comprising 130 student volunteers and 34 faculty members. Volunteers were assigned specific roles to provide comprehensive support:
Dormitory Assistance: Inside the residence halls, volunteers answered questions about accommodation and provided guidance on campus life.
Reception Points: Designated help desks were set up near dormitories to assist students in quickly locating their rooms.
Transportation Aid: Volunteers stationed at bus stops helped new students with their luggage and escorted them to their dormitories.
Registration & Tours: Volunteers then accompanied students from the dorms to the registration point at Wenhui Building. After registration, they guided new students and their parents on tours of the Life Science Museum, offering a thorough introduction to the campus environment.
At the Wenhui Building, the college set up specialized exhibition booths tailored to each academic discipline. The displays featured award-winning student projects from various competitions, specialized laboratory equipment, and practical outcomes. Notably, the Food Science program showcased student-made products such as wine, yogurt, baked flatbreads, and fermented mandarin fish, highlighting the hands-on learning approach. Faculty members were present at a Culture Wall to explain the college's educational philosophy, history, program objectives, curriculum structure, and career prospects, giving families valuable insights for academic planning.
The successful orientation not only established a positive connection between the college and its new students but also demonstrated its student-centered approach and distinctive educational strengths. The college will continue to support the Class of 2025 through follow-up activities, helping them adapt to university life and embark on their academic journey.
